The Synaptic team were already delivering exceptional neurophysiotherapy care and with training from the Verita Neuro team, were well positioned to be service partners.

At the present time, the services we deliver in Canada are only suitable for patients who have already visited either our Bangkok or Guadalajara site, to receive epidural stimulation implantation.
Synaptic have been chosen by Verita Neuro as trusted partners and colleagues, making the access to our proprietary protocols easier for our patients in North America. They have been trained directly by Verita Neuro leading staff members
The rehabilitation center is very easily accessible. It is a mere 25 minute drive from Calgary international airport, which welcomes flights from all over the world. Any patients within the Americas will be able to travel easily and cost effectively to the Synaptic Center for their remapping.
Calgary is considered a low risk and safe city for tourists. There is a strong, safe and reliable transport system. The risk of natural disaster is also very low, with the only potential issues arising are minimal flooding or snowstorms in the winter months. Calgary is a fairly family oriented city but with a wonderful food, sport and music scene.
As aforementioned, the Canada center does not offer our full treatment range, only follow up services, namely the remapping of the spinal cord stimulator which normally takes place 6 months to 1 year after initial treatment. This initial treatment must take place in either our Bangkok or Guadalajara centers.
Re-mapping is a key part of our treatment protocol. In primary treatment, following the implantation of the epidural stimulator, patients undergo a 5 week process of physical and occupational therapy. During this process, the stimulator is mapped to their body’s requirements. When patients leave full time treatment and return home, they continue their physiotherapy with local physiotherapists. This continued work means that their physical capacity continues to improve, and 6 months to 1 year later, their stimulator needs to be ‘re-mapped’ to according to their progress. It is this re-mapping which we offer in Canada, which can usually be completed within one or two weeks.
