Introducing Garrett, a 21-year-old from the USA 🇺🇸 who sustained a C5-C6 SCI following a diving accident in a swimming pool a year ago. Diagnosed with incomplete quadriplegia and complete …paraplegia, Garrett can move his neck, shoulders, arms, and wrists, but has limited function in his fingers. After undergoing surgeries and intensive therapy, Garrett has now joined us in Mexico 🇲🇽 to receive two Epidural Stimulators and Stem Cell treatment. He hopes to regain finger movement and enhance his independence.

While …his initial expectations were high, he has achieved significant improvements through the mapping process. Chris is now able to stand using bars and a walker with minimal support, even transitioning from sitting to standing by himself—a remarkable step forward in his recovery.
In addition to this progress, Chris has seen improvements in his stepping programs, where he can kick and pull his legs while walking. He’s also gained strength to push both legs during gym exercises like cycling. Though he had hoped for even greater progress, these gains reflect his dedication and hard work—and set a strong foundation for his continued journey.

During this remapping period with us in Bangkok, Mohammed who has a C6-C7 incomplete SCI has experienced noticeable improvements in his upper body, particularly in the endurance and strength of …his arms and shoulders.
By the end of this remapping session, he can control the pushing and pulling of his legs while stepping, although he still requires support from therapists to kick his legs forward. He can only stand for up to two minutes due to dizziness, but he is now able to lock his knees while standing, which is a positive development. Additionally, his trunk control has improved, allowing him to perform dynamic exercises like sit-ups and slowly tilt his body backwards with the programs on, something he couldn’t achieve on his first day.

Despite some movement in his hips and the ability to do transfers, he hasn’t regained much control over his lower limbs from previous treatments.
Christopher’s goal from his treatment with us are to improve his ability to stand up, sit down, and ideally take a few steps. He is also hopeful that the treatment will help enhance his overall bodily control.
