Many of our surgical team are pioneers in their respective fields, with unparalleled research and surgical experience. Dr. Bunpot Sitthinamsuwan, MD, MSc
Chief Neurosurgeon, Thailand
Dr. Bunpot Sitthinamsuwan is an expert and experienced neurosurgeon who has performed over 100 surgeries for Verita Neuro’s Epidural Stimulation patients. He is currently based in Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr Bunpot began to specialise in Neuroscience in the mid-2000s. He has since significantly built both his knowledge and experience in the field to become a well-respected international expert. As well as working with Verita Neuro, Dr Bunpot is the Professor of Neurosurgery at Mahidol University and its affiliated Siriraj Hospital. The majority of epidural stimulation surgeries internationally have been performed by Dr Bunpot and he is globally the most experienced neurosurgeon in this field. He has wide experience in a variety of specialities including Epidural Spinal Cord Stimulation for the restoration of motor and autonomic functions, management of neuropathic pain, deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease, stereotactic & functional neurosurgeries and complex neurosurgeries for the management of epilepsy, spasticity and movement disorders.
Dr. Rodrigo Mercado Pimentel, MD
Neurosurgeon, Mexico
Dr. Rodrigo Mercado Pimentel is responsible for the surgical implantation of the epidural stimulation device and the electrodes over the spinal cord. He is currently based in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Dr Rodrigo began working in Neuroscience with post-graduate medical training in Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery in 2005. He is now a Functional Neurosurgeon, certified by the Mexican Council of Neurological Surgery and is the most experienced surgeon working with neuromodulation for spinal cord injuries in Latin America. As well as working with Verita Neuro, he serves as a consultant neurosurgeon in various medical specialist centers in Mexico. He is Head of Functional Neurosurgery at Civil Hospital, Guadalajara. He has been involved in research projects which focus on neurovascular conditions and the central nervous system His expertise includes Epidural Spinal Cord Stimulation for motor and autonomic functions and neuromodulation for Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders.
Dr. Beatriz Perez Hernandez, MD
Medical Director for Verita Neuro Mexico
Dr. Beatriz Perez Hernandez is a rehabilitation specialist, overseeing patient’s recovery programs in Mexico. She is currently based in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Following her graduation, Dr Beatriz initially specialised in Rehabilitation medicine, before further specializing in Neuro-rehabilitation. Furthering her Neurological experience, she also completed rotations in spinal cord injury in Houston, Texas and is now certified by the Mexican Council of Rehabilitation Medicine. As well as working with Verita Neuro, she is the Head of Rehabilitation at ‘Hospital Regional de Guadalajara Dr. Valentín Gómez Farías’. She is a member of the American Spinal Injury Association and the Western Rehabilitation Society. Dr Beatriz has also been involved in several research papers, working on autonomic functions in spinal cord injury patients, nerve conduction and electromyography.
Prof. Dr. Guilherme Lepski, MD
Neurosurgeon, Brazil
Dr. Lepski Guilherme is a visiting consultant and neuro-surgical advisor to Verita Neuro. He is currently based in Sao Paulo Brazil.
Dr. Guilherme began his career in Neurosurgery in 2004, completing his residency with the University of Sao Paulo. He is now the Head of Neurosurgery at Hcor university and a Private Docent at the University of Tubingen, Germany. As well as his academic roles, he is a functional and stereotactic neurosurgeon, practicing medicine both in Germany and Brazil. He consults for several internationally respected institutions, as well as Verita Neuro. He has completed a great deal of research in areas such as stem cell application in the treatment of spinal cord injuries and neurodegenerative conditions, electrical stimulation and deep brain stimulation and movement disorders. He is a functional and stereotactic neurosurgeon, practicing medicine both in Germany and Brazil.
Dr Sachin Kandhari, MBBS, MA Post Graduate Masters Degree from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences
Neurosurgeon, India
Dr. Sachin Kandhari is a visiting consultant and neuro-surgical advisor to Verita Neuro. He is currently based in New Delhi, India. He is the Chief Neurosurgeon and the Head of our partner facility in India.
Dr Sachin began his work in the field of Neurosurgery over 15 years ago when he completed postgraduate medical training in stereotactic neurosurgery, and brain and deep brain stimulation. He is now considered a pioneer in the treatment of spinal cord injuries, being the first neurosurgeon in the world to develop a treatment protocol which combines spinal cord stimulation with Cyberdyne robotic treatments to accelerate patient recovery. He has extensive experience in minimally invasive surgeries and neuromodulation including epidural spinal cord stimulation and deep brain stimulation. He is a member of a number of prolific institutions, including the European Association of Neurosurgical Studies [JA5]. Dr Sachin is a speaker at numerous international neurosurgery conferences, recently, together with his colleagues from UCLA, Dr Sachin published a paper on how Transcutaneous Spinal Neuromodulation Reorganizes Neural Networks.
Dr. Nasir Majeed, MBBS
Medical Director & Head of Research and Development
Dr. Nasir Majeed is the Medical Director of Verita Neuro and oversees all medical and rehabilitation teams internationally. He is currently based in Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr. Majeed began his career over a decade ago in ‘translational medicine’, a field described as ‘bench to bedside’ - taking findings from the lab and applying them to clinical practice. He developed an interest in neurological and autoimmune conditions at an early stage. His initial work around spinal cord and brain injuries involved research on how stem cells could be used in their treatment. He has also undertaken further research around stem cells, including their use in immunotherapy and their mechanism of action. In 2014, Dr. Majeed helped to build the foundations for what is now Verita Neuro. He was among the first to combine epidural stimulation with stem cell treatments, in this revolutionary new treatment. He developed the world’s first guidelines for proper surgical intervention involving ES implantation for motor functions, and post-surgical, rehabilitation and mapping involved with epidural stimulation. He continues to be involved with the case of every patient treated by Verita Neuro and is a leading expert in stem cell research.
Dr. Rodrigo Vilches Aranguren, MD
Medical Director, Mexico
Dr. Rodrigo Vilches Aranguren works with patients to optimize the mapping process and achieve maximum muscle response. He is currently based in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Dr Rodrigo began his specialization in neuro-rehabilitation in 2006, undergoing rotations in spinal Injury, Craniocerebral Trauma and Electromyography in Los Angeles. He has since continued to build his experience in the field with international training and research and is a well-respected Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Cancún. As well as working with Verita Neuro, his private work specialises in regenerative medicine and the treatment of neurological disorders and related conditions. He is certified by the Mexican Council of Rehabilitative Medicine.
Dr Paulina Marin, MD
Attending Physician, Mexico
Dr. Paulina Marin is a Doctor of Medicine with a specialization in Neuropathy. She is the attending physician to the Verita Neuro patients and helps them through their recovery. She is based in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Dr Paulina first qualified as a physiotherapist, before later completing her medical education. She has a breadth of experience in physical therapy and rehabilitation and chose to focus on neurological conditions, with training in advanced Neurotherapy techniques and neurophysiology & Neurotherapy in neurologic patients. She regularly attends conferences such as the ISPRM conference and the National Congress of Geriatrics, Gerontology and Rehabilitation, to stay up to date with the latest advances in the field. This neurological experience, combined with medical training and vast experience in physiotherapy offers the perfect combination of knowledge and makes Dr Paulina an extremely valuable addition to the Verita Neuro Team.
Sandra Garcia Hernandez
Nurse
Sandra qualified as a registered nurse from the Escuela de Enfermería de Cruz Roja in Guadalajara Mexico. She has a wealth of experience in nursing, including monitoring and crisis management and plays a vital role in supporting the team clinically at Verita Neuro. She has worked in nursing in Guadalajara since her graduation and is passionate about supporting neurological rehabilitation patients.
Maria Guadalupe Ascencio Martinez (Lupita)
Nurse
Lupita graduated from the Technological University of Mexico in Guadalajara with a degree in nursing. She has worked in a variety of roles within Guadalajara, offering specialised care for a variety of patients, both in residential and clinical settings. She had been with Verita Neuro since 2020 and has developed specialised skills in neurorehabilitation and working with spinal cord injury patients.
José Antonio Fernández Cuevas (Tony)
Head Nurse
Tony graduated from the Universidad de Guadalajara in 2018, before completing his internship year at the IMSS hospital #180 en Tlajomulco, Mexico. During his internship he gained experience in a number of areas, including hospitalization, emergency service, intensive therapy amongst others, offering him extensive knowledge of patient care. Before joining Verita Neuro, he was a nurse in the emergency area at the Real San Jose hospital. He also has knowledge of care for critically ill patients, adults, children and neonates. He is AHA certified in advanced life support. Tony prioritises providing a friendly approach with his patients, and ensuring that they feel both safe and positive. Tony likes to read and learn new things.

Kittiboon Jarernpratumdee (Kit)
Head of Physical Therapy, Thailand
Kit began his career with a bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, from the highly respected Mahidol University. With over 20 years experience in the field, he has worked with a broad range of renowned organizations such as the United Nations and ‘Handicap International’, in both Thailand and the United States. He is now the Head of Physical Therapy at Verita Neuro and oversees all of our physical therapy programs. He has been working with Epidural Stimulation patients for over 5 years and is one of the most experienced therapists in this field globally. Kit’s philosophy is “The human brain has no limit of capability so work hard today to get better for tomorrow”.
Nonlanee Thirathammasit (Mai)
Physical Therapist, Thailand
Mai began her career with a degree in physical therapy from the renowned Mahidol University, Thailand. She made up one of the rehabilitation team who supported the first epidural stimulation patient in Thailand and brings with her a broad knowledge of therapeutic exercise, activity-based training, and manual techniques. She has experience in a range of fields including neurology, orthopedics, geriatrics, and pediatrics.
Parada Prachantasen (Boss)
Physical Therapist, Thailand
Boss graduated with a bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from Rangsit University. He has over five years of experience in Physiotherapy and has a good deal of experience with spinal cord injury patients who have received epidural stimulation. He is dedicated to personalizing the patient experience, adapting their exercise plan to their needs.
Phuwiss Phanuratphichit (Ping-Ping)
Physical Therapist, Thailand
Ping-Ping began his career in Physiotherapy with a degree from Thammasat University in Physical Therapy. He has worked with Verita Neuro since 2018, helping with both the mapping process and supporting patients through their physical rehabilitation, and he specializes in our epidural stimulation treatment. He is a specialist in mapping epidural stimulation devices at both the cervical and lumbar levels.
Kochaphan Phirom (Ploy)
Physical Therapist, Thailand
Ploy received her degree in Movement and Exercise Sciences from Chiang Mai University and gained valuable experience of working with neurological patients while she was studying for her master’s degree. This inspired her interest in the field and she is passionate about combining health sciences with technology in order to create optimum and advanced rehabilitation experiences for patients.
Chatsasiton Boonin (Mo)
Occupational Therapist, Thailand
Mo graduated from the prestigious Mahidol University, with a degree in Occupational Therapy in 2020. She then spent time working in both hospitals and nursing homes with patients suffering from neurological issues. She specializes in higher-level spinal cord injury and helps patients mostly in improving their upper limb function. Her focus is on improving patients’ continuing quality of life, wellbeing, and independence with physical training so many of the activities she undertakes with clients aim to support day-to-day tasks such as lifting a cup or using cutlery.
Hathaichanok Benjarongrat (Mai)
Treatment Manager, Thailand
Before joining Verita Neuro in 2017, Mai’s background was in physiotherapy. Having completed a Master’s in Neuroscience, she spent some time as a lecturer of physiotherapy. Mai played an integral role in developing Verita Neuro’s therapist team and continues to facilitate the integration of neurorehabilitation techniques into the treatment experiences of our patients. She oversees day-to-day operations in our Bangkok clinic and helps to support patients in areas they may need, throughout their treatment.
Pasala Maneewong (Pas)
Physical Therapist, Thailand
Pasala has over 10 years of experience as a physical therapist. She is currently working mainly with spinal cord injury patients, but she has vast experience in physical therapy for various neurological conditions such as motor neuron disease, ataxia, cerebral palsy. Pasala has worked for Verita Neuro for a few years and is now an advanced mapper, helping patients through the process of tailoring their epidural stimulation device to their own body. She also plays a pivotal role in our research projects, analyzing available clinical papers on neuromodulation methods and helping to implement new findings into our physical therapy protocols.
Irvin Corona Cázares
Physical Therapist, Mexico
Irvin finished university in 2019 with a physiotherapy degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, the most prestigious medical school in Latin America. He quickly moved into neurology, working with patients who had suffered trauma and accidents as well as neurological conditions. A diploma in advanced techniques in electrotherapy also helped Irvin to further specialize. He has worked for Verita Neuro for a number of years and is passionate about helping patients to regain their independence.
Ivan Rodolofo Zayas Vivanco
Physical Therapist, Mexico
Ivan graduated from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in 2012, with a degree in physiotherapy, specializing in Neuro-rehabilitation. He has continued to develop his academic and research strengths in the neurological field, writing papers including "Importance of sensory references in the patient with neurological dysfunction" and “Analyzing the treatment of patients with neurological dysfunction" He has years of experience with spinal cord injury patients and is an advisor to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of Jalisco.
Juan Francisco Castillo Herrera
Physical Therapist, Mexico
Juan left Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in 2019 with a degree in Physical Therapy, having worked in the Neuro-rehabilitation field, with spinal cord and brain injury patients, since 2018. His specialism is in electrotherapy and as well as working full time as mapping specialist for Verita Neuro, he is also part of the American Spinal Injury Association of Latin America’s subcommittee and teaches part time at his own university.
Julio César Guzmán Ramos
Physical Therapist, Mexico
Julio César studied at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, graduating with a degree in Physiotherapy. Before moving into the neuro-rehabilitation field, he worked for the Municipal Sports Council of Zapopan, Jalisco, managing the rehabilitation work there. He worked with elite athletes, helping them rebuild after injury. He has been with Verita Neuro for a number of years and is a mapping specialist.
Daniel Alejandro González Sánchez
Physical Therapist, Mexico
Daniel studied physical therapy and rehabilitation at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, graduating in 2015. Throughout his training he focused on gaining experience in the area of neurorehabilitation, both in his practical experience and with courses in neuromuscular facilitation and neurodynamics. He has solid experience with spinal cord injury patients and since working with Verita Neuro has specialised in working with patients with epidural stimulators.
Eliel Navarro
Physical Therapist, Mexico
Eliel graduated from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in 2018 with a degree in Physical Therapy and has since specialised in working with neurological patients, suffering from spinal cord and brain injury, strokes and Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Following the completion of his undergraduate degree, Eliel undertook a masters in “Electrical Stimulation of the Neurological Patient”, improving his treatment protocol for patients with nerve injury. As well as working with Verita Neuro, he is also passionate about supporting patients with dysphagia and consistently works with patients across these fields to help improve their quality of life.
Thanaphumintr Narkurairattana (Aomsin)

Aomsin graduated with bachelor’ s degree of Physiotherapy from Srinakharinwirot University in 2021. During internships in neurological rehabilitation centers he worked with spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and stroke patients, giving him experience in orthopaedics and neurology. After graduation, he began working with Verita Neuro Thailand. He was especially interested in learning about the combination of epidural stimulation and traditional rehabilitations and how this improved patient’s quality of life.
Jakrawut Pitakkanchanakul (Gap)

Gap graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from Chulalongkorn University, one of the top rated universities in Thailand. Prior to working with Verita Neuro he gained experience as a physiotherapist, working with neurological and orthopaedics patients. He has worked with Verita Neuro since 2022 and is passionate about further specialising in the neurological and orthopaedics fields.
Khemika Chavengpoj (Mika)
Physical Therapist, Thailand
Mika graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand. She has experience in both the neurology and orthopaedics fields from her placement period. She is developing her mapping skills and is proficient in both upper and lower extremity mapping. She enjoys working with patients, giving them challenging exercises to help them achieve their goals whilst also having fun!
Nanthiphak Konphet (Nora)
Physical Therapist, Thailand
Nora graduated with a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree of physiotherapy from Chulalongkorn university, one of the top rated universities in Thailand. Her focus for her graduate degree was neurological physiotherapy. During her internships, she gained experience of training patients with a variety of neurological problems and in various hospital settings. After graduations, she worked with elderly and neurological patients in the community and at a nursing home, obtaining valuable expertise. In 2022, she started working at Verita Neuro. She is passionate about teamwork and assisting patients in achieving their goals through therapy.
Denisz Kovács
Physical Therapist, Thailand & Europe
Denisz studied at the University of Szeged in Hungary and graduated as a physiotherapist. During his academic study, he actively participated in scientific and technological research and student conferences in Hungary and abroad. After graduation, he gained professional experience in robotics for neurorehabilitation. Since 2018, he has worked with patients with neurological conditions, using robotic based therapies as well as conventional-activity based therapies. His current role in Budapest Hungary is at Oaktree Private Rehabilitation Clinic, where he works with patients and he will continue to work remotely for Verita Neuro as a ‘Mobile Mapping Expert’. He frequently attends courses around neurorehabilitation, on topics such as proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and gait analysis. As well as working with patients, he is also a lecturer of neurology for physiotherapists.

Hanna Charles
Chief Growth Officer, Director of Patient Services
Hanna Charles is the Chief Growth Officer and Director of Patient Services, working on developing Verita Neuro as a business and ensuring high quality of patient relationships and care. She is currently based in Bangkok, Thailand.
Following the completion of her degree in Biotechnology, Hanna has gone on to gain more than twelve years of healthcare, medical tourism, and leadership experience, across four continents. At Verita Neuro, she oversees the company’s worldwide operations as well as customer service and support, including end-to-end management of pre-, during, and post-treatment services. She plays a key role in the continued development of strategic relationships with top international hospitals and doctors, building and strengthening world-class services that meet and exceed the expectations of our customers in all countries.
Hanna believes in empowering patients by giving them access to progressive, tailor-made healthcare of tomorrow, and the tools to make educated healthcare decisions. Her team is dedicated to supporting our clients and their families in navigating the journey of safe, explorative treatments which unlock endless possibilities.
Hinde Azouga
Patient Representative
Hinde Azouga is a Patient Representative, supporting international patients in understanding and accessing Verita Neuro’s unique treatments. She is a talented multi-linguist and is currently based in Bangkok, Thailand.
Hinde has a master’s degree in accounting, controlling and auditing from the University of Bordeux. She has international experience and speaks Arabic, French and English, helping patients from around the world to choose the right treatment to improve their quality of life. She began working with Verita Neuro in 2018 and is passionate about our next-generation treatment offering. She is key to supporting patients through their journey, and ensuring that they receive the best treatment experience possible.
Vea Gaygon
Patient Representative
Vea Gaygon is a Patient Representative at Verita Neuro and the main point of contact for patients. She supports patients in understanding and choosing treatment options and helps facilitate the practical arrangements for their stay. She is based in Bangkok, Thailand.
Vea, a Registered Nurse, is a graduate of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute, the best nursing school in the Philippines. She has a breadth of experience working in very multicultural and international settings. Vea previously lived in the Philippines, and her professional experience included helping patients in a maternity clinic and conducting health and safety programs as an Occupational Health Nurse. She came to Thailand to foresee health and safety at one of the leading international schools and was working with an organisation, helping international cancer patients to secure treatment, before joining Verita Neuro.
Sofia Corona
Patient Representative
Sofia Corona is a Patient Representative whose unique combination of professional skills and life experience make her an expert in Verita Neuro’s services. She has a background in customer services and was previously treated by our expert team.
Sofia has a breadth of experience across a range of industries, beginning her career with a degree in Graphic Design and later undertaking a diploma in Help Relationship Skills. She worked in Publicity, Customer Service, and Sales for a leasing company before suffering a car accident in 2018, which left her with a spinal cord injury. In November of the same year, she was treated by Verita Neuro, with epidural stimulation and stem cell therapy, resulting in an improvement of her physical condition. She became a public speaker, talking about her experience at conferences, and in 2021 she published her first book. She joined Verita Neuro in 2021 bringing her unique combination of skills and experience which make her perfectly suited to support our patients through their recovery journey. Sofia is trilingual and speaks Spanish, English and Italian.
Sabina Echeverri Chollet
Patient Coordinator
Sabina Chollet is a Patient Coordinator, whose grasp of languages and different cultures makes her excellently qualified to support international patients. She is currently based in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Sabina has a degree in Graphic Design from ITESO Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara. After working in design for 20 years in Mexico, Switzerland, Spain and the UK, she became passionate about philanthropy and sustainable development and began working for an NGO. She joined Verita Neuro to put her empathy and sensitivity into practice, being at the service of patients and their families. Her goal is to accompany them, practically and emotionally, ensuring their stay is pleasant and comfortable. Sabina speaks fluently Spanish, French and English and also teaches yoga and enjoys spending time in nature.
Dulce González Patrón
Patient Representative
Dulce González is an expert in customer service and is passionate about human development. She is committed to ensuring that patients receive the best possible treatment experience. She is currently based in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Dulce completed a degree in International Business Communication, before going on to work with international companies such as Eastman Kodak Company and Xfinity. She had a interest in and commitment to human development, prompted by having a daughter who lives with a long term medical condition - congenital heart disorder. Therefore, she empathises with others in similar situations and has knowledge of managing life around hospital and clinic visits. She is committed to supporting both patients and caregivers, to ensure that they receive the best possible treatment experience. Dulce is also bilingual, speaking both Spanish and English.
