Stem Cell Treatment for Spinal Cord Injury and Neurological Conditions

Verita Neuro’s Stem Cell treatment is designed for people living with Spinal Cord Injury, Brain Injury, Stroke, ALS, and other neurological conditions like Cerebral Palsy, or Ataxia. We work with leading Stem Cell experts and doctors to offer a unique treatment to help you get back on track. Many of our patients experience improvements in strength, sensation, and coordination.

Stem Cells are naturally occurring in the body. They have the ability to transform into a multitude of cell types. The Stem Cells we provide are;

  • Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs): Derived from the umbilical cord, MSCs have potent regenerative and immunomodulatory properties.
  • Amniotic Fluid Stem Cells: These cells offer a high potential for differentiation and tissue repair especially in neurological conditions.
  • Exosomes

We are unique in offering an on-site center at our Guadalajara clinic – Verita Neuro’s first clinic with its own in-house Stem Cell Lab – where we process Mesenchymal Stem Cells that can be used immediately with our patients.

When Stem Cells are frozen they lose their quality, functionality, and viability and therefore we only offer fresh stem cells with viability often exceeding 95% – drastically improving the chances of success.

What is Fresh Stem Cell Treatment?

Fresh Stem Cell treatment involves using undifferentiated cells – cells that have not yet developed into a specific lineage type – to support the body’s natural repair processes. These cells work primarily by acting as powerful Neuroprotective agents. The cells are also known to stimulate tissue regeneration by releasing growth factors – which can assist the patient’s own cells to repair and rebuild the affected areas.

At Verita Neuro these cells are selected to match each patient’s specific needs. The treatment is tailored: as a team we determine the best stem cell types, delivery methods, and supportive regimens to help rebuild, repair, or support neural tissue. Stem Cell treatment is often used together with high-dose IV Vitamin Infusions and targeted Physical Therapies.

Conditions We Treat

Our Stem Cell treatments have shown promising results in treating a variety of neurological and autoimmune conditions, including:

  • Spinal Cord Injuries
  • Traumatic Brain Injuries and Stroke
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Ataxia
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Motor Neurone Disease
  • Post-COVID Pulmonary and Neurological Complications
  • Chronic Kidney Diseases
  • Chronic Liver Diseases and Liver Cirrhosis

Unlike some of our other treatments, Stem Cell treatment is available immediately after your injury or diagnosis, however some conditions, such as organ dysfunction, can lower the risk of success – but we support many with a wide range of neurological conditions.

Expected Results from Stem Cell Treatment

Outcomes differ from person to person. Commonly reported improvements include:

  • Improved motor function and mobility
  • Better coordination and balance
  • Increased sensation below the injured area
  • Enhanced vision or sensory restoration
  • Increased ability to participate in daily tasks
  • Increased strength and stamina

Stem Cell Delivery Methods

Stem Cells can be introduced to the body through a variety of different methods:

Intravenous Infusion – Stem Cells are infused into a vein and can circulate around the blood stream. The cells are attracted to the damaged areas in the body and settle in the inflamed or injured tissue – however these cells can sometimes get trapped in organs along the journey (first-pass effect). First-pass effect can be both beneficial and limiting, depending on the target.

Lumbar Puncture – Stem Cells are injected directly into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) via a lumbar puncture, allowing the cells to access the central nervous system (CNS) in a more direct route than IV delivery, eliminating the risk of the first-pass effect.

Intraspinal – Stem Cells are injected directly into the spinal cord tissue, a method that is particularly effective for those suffering with a spinal cord injury or neurodegenerative conditions like SCI.

Intramuscular – Stem Cells are delivered directly into muscle tissue allowing for localized effects, slower absorption, and potentially a more precise delivery – it is a particularly useful method for muscular dystrophy or muscular tissue repair.

Mechanism(s) of Action in Stem Cell Treatment

Stem Cells work in a variety of different ways, and the key mechanisms include, Paracrine Signalling, Secretome, and Extracellular Vesicles. These mechanisms provide benefits through the molecules that are secreted rather than through the direct replacement of damaged cells.

In contrast, Homing and Migration are mechanisms that use IV or intrathecal administration to administer Stem Cells which then migrate towards injury and inflammation sites, guided by chemical signals.

Stem Cells can also work towards Immune Modulation and Anti-Inflammation by, modulating immune responses, and reducing cytokine – these methods are helpful for those suffering with Lung Injuries, CNS Injuries, and Autoimmune Disease.

In intraspinal or CNS deliveries, Stem Cells can offer Neuroprotection and Support Endogenous Repair by preserving existing neurons, reducing scarring, stimulating remyelination, and promoting axonal sprouting.

The treatment journey

  • Assessment

We begin by reviewing medical history, diagnostic imaging, and health status, then discuss what outcomes are realistic based on your situation.

  • Therapy Planning & Delivery

We select the stem cell types and method of delivery that best match your needs, then carry out treatment in a clinical setting with specialist oversight.

  • Rehabilitation Support

After treatment, you’ll work with our rehabilitation team in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and sensory retraining to support integration of improvements.

  • Ongoing Evaluation & Follow-Up

You won’t be left alone after your initial stay. We monitor progress, adjust treatments if needed, and provide follow-up care and emotional support as you advance in recovery.

What is a Realistic Outlook after Stem Cell Treatment?

Results are different for everyone and depend on the nature of injury, health prior to treatment, age, consistency of rehab, and other individual factors. Some people see early improvements; for others, change is more gradual.
